Happy 'Versary Tyler!

Tyler and I celebrated our 2nd anniversary yesterday! Before dinner, we stopped by the Lake Union Lightship, Swiftsure. Not a lighthouse, but close enough :)

For dinner, we tried the highly recommended restaurant, Serafina. All I have to say is YUM-O! It was an excellent meal and I must have enjoyed it so much that I forgot to take a picture, oops! It was a wonderful way to celebrate our love! xoxo!

Easter Prep

On Saturday, I helped my mom bake Easter bread, here's the finished product (thanks Tyler for throwing on the sprinkles!)

It wouldn't be a day at my parents house without some bonding with the animals :) Brewster decided it would be fun to get into the flour!

No worries, though, we cleaned him up well!

Here's a cute photo of the most adorable one of them all, our gentle giant as we like to call her...Barlee...

Ms. Fischer came to visit the Haucks on Saturday evening. She was an excellent source of motivation and inspiration for coloring Easter eggs!

She even dedicated one egg to her former Boss, that would be me!

It's great to be green!

I celebrated St Patty's Day with a true Irish woman, Miss Beth! The boys, Tyler and Dave, rounded out the party and of course, were a source of great entertainment.

Beth filled up the crockpot with corned beef, cabbage and potatoes and baked up some Irish Soda bread!
Needless to say, it was quite tasty. I tried a new recipe...chocolate mint cheesecake...it was alright! That was my happy time for the week, for sure!

Three Pink Flamingos and a Bears Fan!

For the second year in a row, I participated in the SU Anne Carragher Fitness and Wellness Challenge on a Registrar team. Beth, Carly, Andrew and myself celebrated the end of the six week challenge and the beginning of excellent wellness habits :) Here we are with our new water bottles, a prize for anyone who reached 100 points!

Our team name: Three Pink Flamingos and a Bears Fan! Quite creative due to the fact that Anne Carragher loved flamingos and so does Carly! Beth and I are big fans of pink, and of course, Andrew is a faithful Chicago Bears fan.

Vashon Island

In our quest to visit new lighthouses, Tyler and I headed out to Point Robinson Lighthouse on Maury Island (adjacent to Vashon Island).

The ferry left from West Seattle and although cold and fairly cloudy, it was a fun trip!

We strolled on the beach, took in the beautiful views, and relaxed on the swinging bench.

Fun times!

Friday was the start of a new tradition in the Reg Office, Pay Day Happy Hour! We headed over to the Garage and enjoyed some time away from the office. There was much laughter and good times. Beth, Dave, Tyler and I played a few games of pool to end the evening. I am so bad at pool, good thing we are a supportive crowd! Way to go Beth for showing off her mad pool skills to win game 2!

On Saturday, Tyler and I went out with friends in celebration of Jordan's birthday! The young-in of the group has turned 26! :) We went to Quinn's, a tasty new restaurant/gastropub on capitol hill!

We had a great time with excellent food and drinks. To end the evening, we enjoyed beer shakes at Karlie and Jordan's. We were accompanied by the oh so cute Alfred! He is a great foot warmer, I hear!

The new job...

I survived my first week on the job! Here is a shot of me on day 1, trying to settle into my new office. I have decided that my office is almost as big as my living room at home :) You can't really tell from this pic though.

My highs and lows of the week...

Highs: more student contact, feeling like I am putting my masters degree to use, learning new things.

Lows: missing my dear pals in the Reg office (thank goodness for lunch dates and happy hours), the lonely feeling of having your own office, the stress of building new working relationships and wanting to be the best at what you do.

So overall, I think it was a fine week. Thankfully, I learned a lot and at the same time was able to jump right into some projects!
