Mt. Rainier

I don't think I'll ever go to Mt. Rainier on Labor Day weekend again, lesson learned.  :)  It was a beautiful day for a drive though.  We loaded up the prius with mom and dad and headed south.  We tried to catch the shuttle, but the parking lots were so full, so we drove all the way up to Paradise.  SO MANY PEOPLE!  We didn't get to go on the hike we had planned, but we at least saw some beautiful sights.  Here is the mountain from afar (sorry for the blurry pic):

And here we are up close!

We enjoyed this beautiful area near Paradise.

Even if we didn't get in the hike we were hoping for, the views from the car weren't so bad :)

Happy Labor Day everyone!

Sailing!

For Fisch's big 30, we sailed the Puget Sound with a group of friends.  This was many of our first times sailing and the weather was perfect.  What a fun way to spend the afternoon!  Karlie and Jordan brilliantly brought us all sailor hats :)

There's our boat!

I was surprised to find out that for most of our sail, we were tilted on our side, and that's normal apparently.  I'm sure there is a technical term for it, but I wasn't paying attention :)

Lovely views of Mt. Baker and Rainier...

After the sail, we hopped on the ferry to Port Orchard for a BBQ and rousing game of croquet.

And some cupcakes for the birthday girl, of course :)

Hope all of your birthday wishes come true, Fischy!  xoxo
