2015 was a year of good health, which we are grateful for. I, Laura, continue to get excited about running, and Tyler tags along most of the time without complaint. Thank you, Tyler! Our neighborhood is a great, safe place to sneak in runs in the morning. Laura's fitness challenge team at work won first place in the Wellness Challenge, a great campus-wide event each year. Thanks to Rosie, Tonja and Kate for the motivation and exciting 6 week challenge. Go team #awesome!
The highlight in January was our trip to the happiest place on earth with the Schoenfeld crew! Added bonus: we got to visit Blayne and Megan's new townhouse in Redondo Beach and see our handsome nephew Gavin.
Disneyland highlights included wild and crazy Eliana's adventurous spirit, riding the Little Mermaid ride 4 times, following the unbelievable Seahawks win during the championship game without a TV while in line for rides, the Cars Radiator Springs ride, breakfast with Goofy and characters, and the sunshine.

Valentines Day was filled with lots of chocolate and wine. We went to Woodinville and sampled some tasty local varietals. And hanging out with a handsome husband helps too!
March brought Laura to Couer d'Alene, Idaho where she presented at an advising conference about the transfer student orientation. experience at SU Thankfully, that also meant a visit with Amysita and the crazy Eddys, whawhoo!
Shortly thereafter, Laura received the good news that she won the Staff Leadership Award at SU. What an amazing surprise, and a true honor. Here she is with Father Steve, the President of the university.
For Easter, we ventured down to Albuquerque, New Mexico to visit Laura's friend Dave! It was cool to see a new area of the country, explore outdoor sights and visit with friends Dave and Rich. The Sandia mountains tram was really cool!
We also really enjoyed wine tasting, Bandelier, tent rocks and the sunshine!

In May, we celebrated Isaac and Tyler's milestone birthdays!
We ventured to Bellingham for a birthday celebration with Isaac, complete with a trip to the farmers market and a little cider tasting.
On Tyler's birthday, we tried out a new-to-us Italian restaurant, Montalcino, in Issaquah. This place has been rated as one of the best in the nation, and we now know why. Amazing! And they had gluten free pasta, whawhoo!
On memorial day weekend, Blayne, Megan and Gavin came to visit and we enjoyed a delicious brunch at Flat Iron Grill, one of our favorites, in honor of Tyler's birthday!
We had some good times with Gavin, reading with him and taking him to the farmers market.
And then, on May 31, we welcomed Klara Lee to this world. We really do love being auntie and uncle!
Our 2015 recap wouldn't be complete without some pictures of our beloved Pogo. She had a very stressful year, filled with many mornings where her mommy and daddy wouldn't give in to her demands for food at 6am and wouldn't let her sit on the counters and table. (How rude!) On the brighter side, she is thankful for her Grandma and Grandpa Vixie who take care of her when we travel. She is in love with their fireplace!

We enjoyed two vacations this summer. In July we road-tripped through Oregon and had a wonderful time! So many mountains, so little time was the theme of our trip. Seriously though I couldn't keep all of the mountains straight. We visited Smith Rock State Park and climbed the Misery Ridge Trail . We almost gave up a few times but are thankful we didn't. The views were well worth the "misery" and we rewarded ourselves with a visit to Deschutes brewery afterward (GF beer and lots of menu items to choose from) :)
This trip was filled with so much good food and beverage, I could write an entire blog about just that. It was also our first airbnb trip which was cool. In Bend, we stayed at a comfortable cabin in the woods.
Our next stop was a day trip Crater Lake. So incredibly beautiful and well worth the drive! The water really was as blue and clear as they say. I am glad we took the trail to the bottom so we could dip our toes in, but it sure was chilly.
The next day, we wandered around the Old Mill District and headed west to wine country. Another amazing and beautiful drive! Another great airbnb find was the cute carriage house that we stayed in in the country, next to a 1909 school house.
Next stop: cannon beach, where we have been several times but never stayed in. It was fun, perfect for long walks and runs on the beach. It was also a nice respite from the very hot weather in the other parts of the state.
Our last stops included a visit to the rose garden and a mini-reunion with some of my most favorite friends: Beth and the crazy Eddys.
For our one year wedding anniversary, we ventured to the Peninsula -- staying in Port Angeles.
More great food was consumed, surprise surprise. Our first stop was Port Townsend for brunch, then to Whidbey Island to visit the Admiralty Head lighthouse and Fort Worden to visit the Point Wilson lighthouse. Not quite as ambitious as our 16 lighthouse Going Coastal trip in 2008, but still very fun!
We celebrated over a nice dinner, and for dessert, tyler enjoyed our 1 year old wedding cake :) My cake was a little more fresh, thank goodness, lol.

The next day, we ventured around Hurricane Ridge for some hiking, despite the smoky forest fire conditions.
On our way home, we drove through Olympic Game Farm Park and thankfully survived. This farm brought back memories of a Hauck family trip from childhood. Tyler wasn't so sure about all of the up-close-and personal animal contact, especially when several instances involved drool, all leading to good laughs though.
We had an amazing lunch in Sequim and visited a new favorite cidery, Finn River! All in all, a great trip!
In August, we had Kelsey Lynne Photography take some family photos possibly one last time at my parents' house in Auburn. They will be moving to nearby Enumclaw in early 2016! We are excited for their new beginning.
These kiddos are growing way too fast! We are so proud of our nieces and nephews.

The fall is always a busy time for our work. Tyler travelled to Arizona, Utah and twice to California this fall. We snuck away from a busy September and went camping with Myles and Michelle in September on Orcas Island, one of our favorite PNW destinations. My new Subaru, named Suby, did well on her first camping trip! As did our new tent!!!
In October, we made a quick trip to North Dakota to celebrate Lee and Lauretta's wedding. It was nice to see family and celebrate with them. The pumpkin patch was a good time even if we couldn't get all 5 kiddos to look at the camera at the same time. Always nice to catch up with cousin Kari Alex and the crazy Hauck boys!
We enjoy any chance we get to reconnect with friends and the fall was a wonderful time to reconnect with Fisch, Abby and Mike.
Not too long after, it was already thanksgiving time. One of the best events of the year is Pre-Thanksgiving with the Gevers and this year was no exception. It was an Icelandic theme, these two are so cute!
The next week, we welcomed Blayne, Megan and Gavin back to Seattle!
Gavin enjoyed his new train from Myles and Michelle.
We had lots of great food and a fun time reconnecting. Tyler and I hosted a festive thanksgiving meal, thanks to the help of both parents in making sure we didn't have to work too hard.
We headed out Enchanted Winds Tree Farm the following weekend to make our house merry. Tyler came prepared with his alligator saw this year :)

Amidst all of these fun times, we were also productive home owners. Early in the year, we finished the dining room lighting, as is evidenced by the bright and shiny thanksgiving photos.
We spend a fair amount of August and September in our garage. We don't have the best before and after photos but here are a few before. Picture lots of cob webs, half insulated/half dry walled, bad shelving that was falling apart and mostly unusable, etc.
After a lot of patience and dust, we finished the dry wall. Here is what Tyler thought of that :)
Here are some more recent pics of the organization slat wall and shelving we installed. Not to mention the beautiful dry wall and grey paint.
We couldn't be happier in this great house! We celebrated 3 years in issaquah in October, and don't plan to leave anytime soon.
