SU recently kicked off the public portion of the capital campaign and announced that ground breaking on the library renovation and learning commons will be one year earlier than planned! So, I headed over to the current library to capture its 'beauty' in photography. The classic marble staircase and chandelier add to the 1970's decor :)

Manual labor, followed by AMAZING food :)

Last Saturday, Tyler and I joined with MBA students, faculty and staff in a service project at the Seattle Children’s PlayGarden. We helped prep for the EarthDay work-party this weekend where neighborhood and area kids of all abilities join together and plant gardens and flowers. We saw a few children and my favorite was the girl in the hot pink wheelchair! I was busy working so hard that I don’t have pictures to share, sorry! The weather was AMAZING and it felt great to be helping out a worthy cause and see the progress made on the gardens and flower beds. I must admit, though, that I did complain a few times…I am not a big fan of manual labor and getting dirty, sorry! All in all, the event was a success!

A special treat was in store for us later in the day. We met my mom and dad at Lola. Karlie and Jordan were right, Lola is one of the best restaurants in Seattle! I can’t get over how good it was. I am still dreaming of the food today.



After a delicious round of homemade pita and spreads, our server brought out miner’s lettuce with an avocado/shrimp appetizer (OMG it was good!) The A to Z Pinot Gris wine was so excellent! For our main course, we shared family size portions of steak with mushrooms, chicken, lamb, asparagus and smashed potatoes. Smashed, yes, not mashed. I will have to share the secret recipe when I have had a chance to perfect it.

Internet Radio

I have finally been introduced to an internet radio site that I absolutely love! It doesn't cut in and out, there are no commercials, it gives me a nice mix...all great things that I have been searching for. Maybe you have already heard of it, but just in case you haven't...PANDORA is the name! You can create different 'stations' based upon a favorite song or artist. Then, after you have a few 'stations', try the QuickMix feature. Pretty cool, eh?!

The SU main entrance has recently been more fully adorned! The new sign and banners add a nice touch, in my opinion!

Just for Fisch...

My first experience with Voss water and it was *AMAZING*! My coworker Nadeje and I put together gift bags for the MBA Directors that were in town. They included a bottle of Voss and some goodies such as Seattle chocolates, almonds, etc :)

Spring is in the air!

Well, the snow is gone and the sun is out, yahoo!

This week marked the start of spring quarter. It has been nice to have Becca back on campus, even though I haven't seen much of her this week!

In work news this week, students have been in and out of the office getting ready for classes, so I have enjoyed that part of my new job. Tonight is the Graduate Programs Open House for prospective students, so I am all dressed up and ready to answer questions :) Tomorrow, we are hosting 15 Jesuit MBA Directors from around the country for a 1 1/2 day conference. I will be driving a 12 passenger SU van full of them over to West Seattle Salty's on Alki for what I am sure will be a beautiful view and delicious dinner. Looking forward to that! Last week, the big news of the week was that SU was ranked in the top 30 part-time graduate business programs of the nation by US News & World Report. Whawhoo! We are tied for 26th with Pace, Temple, and none other than UW. So, anyway, I am settling in to the new job.
