Downtown breakfast

I have been more involved in the SU young alumni events lately, thanks to President Fischer! Today, Karlie, Jordan, Fisch and I attended the alumni downtown breakfast where Redhook founder Paul Shipman spoke. The location was amazing, as you can see behind us in the photo.



Apparently Karlie and Jordan have combined to become Karlie Jordan, haha!

Bremer'fun'

Fisch, Tyler, and I hopped on the ferry to Bremerton on Saturday to visit the Martens and friends. A few rounds of UNO kept us company on the ferry. Too bad I only won 1 game. It was great to see everyone! We congratulated Molly and Dustin on their engagement, complete with Fisch's gift of champagne. There certainly was no shortage of coctail options, which made for a very fun time :)

~Mothers Day~

I had a wonderful day with the family yesterday! Ma, pa, and I spent some quality time together in the kitchen mixing up all sorts of good stuff. Becca and Levi joined us for dinner. I prepared what I believe was an AMAZING dinner, courtesy of Nury's recipes from Italy: rosemary pork loin, risotto with asparagus, and fresh mozzarella/tomato/basil. Of course, all of the animals showed their sincere appreciation for mom on her special day, especially her favorite, Mr. Brewster!

So, to all you moms and moms-to-be, Happy Mothers Day!

Feliz tres de mayo!

I was happy to be able to catch up with some old friends, Jessica and Mike, and meet their baby girl, Nayeli. Nayeli is 8 months old already, and is super cute as you can see here. The occasion was to celebrate cinco de mayo, two days early :) Although Tyler and I could only stay for the first half, we can't complain due to the fact that we thoroughly enjoyed the guacamole and pina coladas, YUM!

Congratulations, my friends!

In celebration of Karlie and Jordan's new home, the Brewers toasted with some La Carta margaritas and an excellent supper :) It is fun to have them in Ballard and I'm glad we could welcome them to the neighborhood in proper fashion!

the master gardener

It seems as though Kevin and Noah's springtime hobby is gardening. Noah was pleasently surprised with his very own gardening tools for his birthday. Needless to say, this provided much entertainment to party guests. Noah enjoyed the shovel, "broom" (rake), but wasn't quite sure what to do with the garden hoe.



Here he is taking a break to rest his back. In a very serious tone, Noah let us know that his back hurt. No worries, though, he was much better in no time!

Tyler and I travelled over the mountatins (thank God for no snow) and visited the Eddy family. On Friday, Chef Amy cooked up some delicious dinner for us. It was nice to visit and catch up, like old times! On Saturday, we celebrated Noah's birthday.

While Amy and I prepared for the day and Kevin was coaching, Tyler and Noah read a story.



Amy's Lightning McQueen cake was a big hit! I must say, mixing up the colored frosting was right up my alley :)











There were so many people there to celebrate this special boy's birthday!! It was great to visit with the friends and family, and see Noah in action.
