Sorry folks, no corn this year!

Sunday was filled with family fun. Tyler and I met my mom and dad for breakfast, of course at Oh Ryan Café! On the way home, we stopped by the Eagles club to take a peak at a car show. Highlights: the 1915 Ford, a cute pink car (sorry, can’t remember what make/model), and an old-fashioned 1940’s camper. I think I would like camping more if I had a cute camper like that one!

Next on the list was manual labor, haha! We helped dad in the garden and Tyler gladly hopped on the John Deere to level out the pasture. As stated in the subject line, I am sorry to say that there will be no corn in the garden this year, hmmm I wonder why?! Instead, we planted lettuce, peas, eggplant, beets, and carrots.



Thank goodness for a relaxing break in the shade with Barlee girl. I am sure you are thinking ‘she is just the cutest doggy ever’! Yes, I think that too!




Don’t forget Bear, he’s pretty darn cute too!



To top it off, we helped ma clean up the garage a bit. All in all, it was a fun and productive time.

Later in the day, we met headed up to Bothell for a belated birthday celebration. Yay!

Birthday fun, continued

The celebration continued last night, Vixie style :) We had a lovely meal of salmon and oysters and topped it off with cake and ice cream!

Happy Day, Tyler!

Yesterday was Tyler's birthday! We celebrated by having dinner at Yarrow Bay Beach Cafe, right on the Lake Washington waterfront in Kirkland. It was a beautiful day here in Seattle and the outdoor seating was perfect. The food and scenery were excellent!

Downtown breakfast

I have been more involved in the SU young alumni events lately, thanks to President Fischer! Today, Karlie, Jordan, Fisch and I attended the alumni downtown breakfast where Redhook founder Paul Shipman spoke. The location was amazing, as you can see behind us in the photo.



Apparently Karlie and Jordan have combined to become Karlie Jordan, haha!

Bremer'fun'

Fisch, Tyler, and I hopped on the ferry to Bremerton on Saturday to visit the Martens and friends. A few rounds of UNO kept us company on the ferry. Too bad I only won 1 game. It was great to see everyone! We congratulated Molly and Dustin on their engagement, complete with Fisch's gift of champagne. There certainly was no shortage of coctail options, which made for a very fun time :)

~Mothers Day~

I had a wonderful day with the family yesterday! Ma, pa, and I spent some quality time together in the kitchen mixing up all sorts of good stuff. Becca and Levi joined us for dinner. I prepared what I believe was an AMAZING dinner, courtesy of Nury's recipes from Italy: rosemary pork loin, risotto with asparagus, and fresh mozzarella/tomato/basil. Of course, all of the animals showed their sincere appreciation for mom on her special day, especially her favorite, Mr. Brewster!

Feliz tres de mayo!

I was happy to be able to catch up with some old friends, Jessica and Mike, and meet their baby girl, Nayeli. Nayeli is 8 months old already, and is super cute as you can see here. The occasion was to celebrate cinco de mayo, two days early :) Although Tyler and I could only stay for the first half, we can't complain due to the fact that we thoroughly enjoyed the guacamole and pina coladas, YUM!

In celebration of Karlie and Jordan's new home, the Brewers toasted with some La Carta margaritas and an excellent supper :) It is fun to have them in Ballard and I'm glad we could welcome them to the neighborhood in proper fashion!
