Evening strolls...

Tyler and I have been taking advantage of Bellevue's Lake to Lake Trail System. The evening walks are refreshing. Here are a few photos of the sights that we have seen...

Lake Goodwin

We headed up to Lake Goodwin to join Myles and Michelle for some recreation on Saturday. The weather was chilly but beautiful. Tyler and I enjoyed heading out on the rubber raft and helping Myles prep his new boat for the water. The boat ride was a fun new way to experience the lake.

For dinner, we had an American classic BBQ meal of hamburgers, corn on the cob, baked beans, and pasta salad. I can't forget the rootbeer floats and a round of Apples to Apples to close the evening!

A tribute to my favorite walking partner...

For the many beautiful morning Greenlake walks, I want to thank Megan for the laughs that we shared! She was a great motivating force and a much needed boost of energy. In my last week in Ballard, I tried to soak up every walk I could. I am sure we will find a new routine soon :)

After three + lovely years in my tiny house in Ballard, I have flown the coop. Tyler and I successfully combined households and all is well! More updates soon!

Belated Birthday and Anniversary Post!

We recently celebrated 3 special occassions: Mom's 50th birthday, Mom and Dad's 30th anniversary, and Levi and Becca's 1st anniversary! Here's to many more years of fun!!!

Happy 4th of July!

Becca and Levi hosted a fabulous 4th of July party. Both sides of the family were able to join in on the fun! Thanks to mom and Aunt Joan for the excellent food (so, I hear)! I unfortunately was hit by a virus and have been quite ill for the past week and a half. Thankfully, I am almost back to normal and was still ok to enjoy great fireworks and dream of all the great food around me!

A lot of hard work goes into the enjoyment of it, here are Gabi, Tyler, and Levi

Yay for sparklers!

More farmin' fun

The chickens average about 40 eggs per day. That makes for a lot of work. As some of you may know, chickens are probably my least favorite animal (well, besides rodents and snakes). So, I tried to be patient when taking care of the old hens, thank goodness for the delicious eggs to make me realize it is all for a greater good!
Albert has been on his best behavior lately. The cutest sight is to see him and Barlee kissing each other, I'll have to get a picture of that some day!

Jager enjoyed his visit and of course, couldn't stop running around for more than a few minutes! Dad returned home to a bountiful garden. Here we are trimming up the many radishes that were growing like weeds!

Down on the farm…

Becca and I are farm-sitting in Auburn for the next week and a half. Tyler and Levi have been a great help as well! As usual, life on the farm has its ups and downs. Ups/Highs: excellent home-cooked meals and plentiful food choices, chillin’ with the cats and dogs, a spacious home, and the joys of caring for others (pets in this case). Downs/Lows: Barlee barking, Brewster missing his momma, Benji getting ‘stuck’ behind the dryer, fear of Albert, stinky chickens, washing the eggs!

As you can see, the cats and dogs are really stressed out at all of the hard work!

In summary, I am still the urban cowgirl that I proclaimed myself to be – love to live in the city but go home to the country now and then :)
