fall and football

I really love this time of year!  Happy back to school, yay for the return of football, the color orange and crisp cool fall air.  Last Friday, we met up with Becca, Levi and Angie at Isaac's high school homecoming game to see him in action with the pep band.  Fun times!

Our half-time entertainment :)

Wait...where's Isaac?!

Go Vikings!  Great work pep band!

A fresh look!

Dear readers,
I decided it was time to update a few things on this here blog   :)
You'll see a festive new background, a fall themed blog image header (sorry the text is hard to read...I'll try to fix that)...
Also, I've updated my blog roll, added a gadget where you can subscribe via email if you'd like (for those of you who aren't in love with google reader).  Last but not least, you'll see a list of the sites where I find recipe inspiration.
Happy Fall and have a great weekend!

beautiful day in the park

Our last day with the Eddys was filled wth great food and sunshine.  We had breakfast at the delicious Perry Street Cafe then wandered around the park.  Good times!  Just a few photos of our fun in the park.

Obviously this park is not just for kids!  :)

Tons of fun

Tyler and I headed East to Spokane last weekend.  It had been wayyyyy too long since we last saw the Eddys and Kaufmans!  (Sorry guys, next year promises to be less hectic...well, at least for me).   It was a lovely trip and we caught up on the latest and greatest happenings in our lives.  What a blessing to have friends like these girls.  Of course, we didn't just sit around and talk...we got to touch trucks :)  There was a local "Touch a Truck" event where all sorts of vehicles were gathered for kids (and adults...like Tyler...) to play in, honk the horns of, all that good stuff.  There were motorcycles...

Helicopters...

Buses and smiley bus drivers!

I learned that it is incredibly hard to take a photo of four kids at the same time.  :)  I blamed it on my camera being too slow.

Fire trucks...

Farm equipment...

I am pretty sure the adults had just as much fun as the kiddos.  Case in point:

Glory is too cute!

Sam!!!

Mr. Noah, so grown up now, is in kindergarten.  Oh my!  Time really does fly.

Such sweet parents!

She takes her driving seriously as you can see :)

Next stop was riverfront park to ride the carousel!

Such a beautiful place...

Amy, Kevin, Jen, and Joe are such wonderful parents.  They are so patient and loving and set wonderful examples for their children.  I honestly don't know how they do it but some day, I think they should write a book on parenting!

Next up: playground fun!

Sandy

Megan came over last week for a healthy cooking party.  It was delightful :)
We made hummus and a healthy salad.

Not only was it great to catch up with Megan, it was lovely to have her daughter, Sandy, join the fun.  Sandy is such a good girl.  Here she is looking pretty:

I've been cooking up a storm lately.  I wish I had more time to cook.  A new favorite of mine is creamy avocado pasta!!  Tomorrow, I think I'll make chili.  But tonight I had Indian takeout -- eggplant bharta to be exact.  So so so delicious...I highly recommend you try it...soon!

Fall at SU

In case you missed the announcement, I have a new job this fall on campus!  I am loving the challenge it brings and the enthusiastic team that I am working with.  Check out my lovely new work photo:

Last fall, SU opened its amazing new library.  This year, two new additions came to campus!  A new campus apartment complex across from the Shell station and softball field:

I haven't toured the inside, but they look pretty modern!

And, more importantly, the new fitness center...attached to the old dreary Connolly Center:

There is a huge room of cardio equipment, this is only the outer wall portion...with windows overlooking Championship Field.  I didn't get as many pictures as I wouldve liked of the inside because I thought it would be creepy if I took pics of students working out :)

Pretty nice looking, I must say!  I did think it was a little small, though, but hopefully it will get a lot of use!
